Baker’s 7 Year

If you are looking to get away from the average bourbon for the weekend, then this is where you should go to vacation. Baker’s is crafted by the same fine distiller that brings us Jim Beam, and they hit the mark dead on with this one. It has a nice amber and brown color in the bottle on the shelf. The aroma is semi-sweet with vanilla, caramel, and maybe a little hint of fruitiness. The flavor impressed the hell right out of me. The bite is mild-moderate, and it steps away from the natural sweetness of bourbon towards a nice peppery flavor that has a smooth texture, and a medium-long finish.

Straight

Neat brought out every bit of the complex flavors, but at room temperature made the bite tough to enjoy. After adding a few ice cubes, the sum of this whiskey equation turned out to be nothing less than Einstien approved glory. With the burn under control, I also noticed a slight sweetness in the middle of the experience. This is the best way for me to really enjoy the extremely well balanced Baker's bourbon.

Mixed

Though it was not at all a bad mixed drink, I lost much of the unique spiciness that makes this an incredible bourbon. The mixer masked the flavors, and I do not recommend drinking it this way for waist of good whiskey.

Hello there Bourbon Drinkers. Could you please drink a little more for me please and also vote for me in a competition to make my own blend of Whiskey at Bushmills in Ireland with their master distiller Colum Egan. But I really need you to drink more bourbon. I need more empty barrels! We please vote for me at http://apps.facebook.com/bushmillsmakeit/canvas/voting/en_GB. And its for Charity! Thank you all very much! Gareth Baker.
