Jim Beam Distiller’s Series

The very first distinct thought I had with my initial sip was “Damn, this is smooth”. Which prompted me to really get a proper sniff from the bottle. It reminded me of the smell of brown sugar covering a hot bowl of oatmeal in the morning. If you can get past the easy finish without immediately taking another drink, you will notice a nice combination of vanilla and caramel on your tongue, and in your nose. If you like Jim Beam’s original blend, this will be a treat.

Straight

There is a resounding easy "drinkability" about this bourbon. In my opinion, this is great for a relaxing drink by the fire on a cold night. With its strong, dark, and sweet flavor, undoubtedly brought about by the extra time spent in the oak barrels, Jim Beam Distillers Series makes an excellent compliment for any dish that are predominantly salty.

Mixed

Again, extremely smooth with every drink. For me, this isn't an every day whiskey, because of its smoothness. I prefer more of a bite in my drinks. If you live on the smoother side of whiskey drinking, this could easily become one of your favorites.

This was the first and only brand that I ever got, well, sick on. Happened when I was in the Marines in my early twenties. Never had another drop of this one since.

  3. We all have those. You enjoy it a bit too much one night, then never again. Check out our Corner Creek review. Maybe that one would sit nicer in your stomach.

Just reading the review makes me want to hit the bottle. I tell you, the idea of sitting with friends discussing literature, pop culture, and religion while enjoying a smooth drink sounds like a fine night…

“He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; and wine [that] maketh glad the heart of man, [and] oil to make [his] face to shine, and bread [which] strengtheneth man’s heart.” – Pslams 104:14-15

  5. Whiskey, too, makes the heart glad. The psalmist was just unaware, due to the gap in time between him and The American Spirit.

  7. I’m glad we could help. Keep checking back. We plan to keep mixing it up between the most well known and many of the lesser known whiskies available. Hope you keep checking back with us.

    Thanks again.
